Paper cups are disposable cups made out of paperboard and often lined or coated with plastic or wax to prevent liquid from leaking out or soaking through the paper.

Normally, paper cup raw material is the material, which can be used in paper cup machine to make paper cup bowl container, popularly named as CUP PAPER .

The materials which can be used in paper cup machine are: PE coated paper, PLA coated paper, PBS coated paper, water based barrier coated paper, wax coated paper.

Paper cup material type:

• PE film coated paper, Polyethylene (PE): The most common coating, a petroleum-based plastic applied in layers. It prevents leakage and withstands both hot and cold temperatures (low-density polyethylene, LDPE, is typical).
• PLA film coated paper,PLA (Polylactic Acid): A biodegradable bioplastic derived from cornstarch or sugarcane, used in “compostable” cups. Requires industrial composting facilities to break down.
• PBS coated paper, PBS, a plastic possessing the dual characteristics of substituting biomass materials for plastic materials and utilizing the properties of plastics while adding biodegradability.
• Plastic free paper, water based barrier coated paper, said it is plastic free, biodegrable and compostable.
• Wax coated paper, almost the first cup paper, now STOPPED.

In market most popular material is PE Film Coated Paper (PE Film Laminated Paper);
It is widely used to make Paper Cups, Paper bowl, Paper bucket, Noodle box, Paper Lunch box, etc.

How to use PE film coated paper to make paper cups?
While Heating or Ultrasonic Wave is applied on PE film,
the PE film melted (by heating or ultrasonic wave),
then the melt part be welding(sealing) by PRESS.

 

Paper cups composed structure

Paper cups are composed of paper cup wall body and paper cup bottom disc.

• Cup wall body: normally name as paper cup fan, paper cup blank, cup stocks, the cup wall body opened shape (like a fan).
• Cup bottom disc: Giấy cuộn, machine automatic punch disc and insert to cups.

While make paper cups in paper cup making machine, feed two type of material to machine:

• 1, Paper cup fan is the cup wall body opened shape (like a fan), printed or no print;
